Amilcar heritage is here to stay!

Welcome to this site. Just started in March 2026 with the idea to keep the beautiful small cars from Paris alive and driving.

The factory Amilcar, manufacturer  cyclecars started in Saint-Denis, Paris, France in 1921. The first cars were delivered in 1922, now 104 years ago!

Not surprisingly, parts needed to keep these little wonders driving, are not available around the corner.

Starting with my CS in the beginning of 2024, I started completely blank and had to figure it all out, as most owners have to do. Now, two years later, I want to make a start and share as many knowledge about these cars as possible.

In the spring of 2023 I started my one-man company, next to a regular job: Blue Sky Aeromotive. An engineering shop for the automotive and aeronautical industry. Under this name some projects have been done, from consultancy to operational assistance and the production of parts.

My Amilcar project was the kickstarter to launch this site and offer parts for fellow enthousiasts, driven from passion for the automobile.

At this moment I am still managing this as a part time business, next to a regular job. So it is more hobby driven but as professional as possible.

What can we offer for the Amilcar community? (and more!)

With years of experience in professional racing with modern and classic cars and in the avaition wind tunnel industry working with prototype high precision small mechanical parts  I'd like to help out with remanufacturing parts to keep us going.  Starting at young age between Bugatti's, Alfa's an 12 cylinder Ferrari's there is quite some petrol in the blood ;-)

Parts remanufacturing

Since these cars are around 100 years old and the company closed its doors  more than 80 years ago it is not strange that parts are not readily available. For some mechanical parts we took the initiative to start remanufacturing parts.

Most parts are redesigned with reverse engineering as all documentation from the factory was lost during WW2.

Steering box gears

Since I needed new gears for my small type steering box I searched everywhere if these were available. That was not the case, so I decided to get a small serie produced. in close cooperation with one of my connected mechanical workshops. This way also other owners could benefit.

Now we can offer these gears for small steering boxes, as used on CC/CS/C4 for € 1005,- for one set, or € 765,- for two sets or more.

Pitman steering arm

My pitman arm was also beyond repair and an original one not to find. Via reversed engineering I designed a new one and with a partner mechanical engineering shop we manufactured a new arm.
Drawing were made with Computer Aided Design (CAD) and produced on a 5-axis milling machine using Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM).

This arm is now available for € 414,- for one, or € 306,- for two or more.

Other available parts

New bronze small steering box. Just as original, same material and  produced via CAD/CAM manufacturing. One box (without gears) € 6350,- Two or more € 4520,-

Pinion and Ring gears for rear axle.  Not yet made, but estimated at € 2765,- per set,      € 2400,- two or more.

Coming later: gearbox internals, shafts and gears. Let us know if you are interested!

If you require any other mechanical part to be refabricated, just let us know, also for other types or marques. Pre-war of after war, automotive or aviaton, we have lots of experience with connected companies.

All prices: no VAT applicable, and without transport etc.

Brake shoes

Production of new brake shoes will start in the summer of 2026. First, I will start with shoes I will need for my own car and another CC. It is for the rear brakes ( as I don't heve fronts;-).

Other dimensions can follow later, let me know your needs.

This type fits CC, CS, CGS and GGSs rears with brake drums with 210mm diameter; pitch between the pivot and actuator centers is 175mm.  See the picture on this site.

Price is not yet known, it also depends on the number of shoes to be produced. If you are interested: please let me know ASAP.

Gearbox cover

Gear box covers are known to wear out and crack at the pivot screw point in the upper tube part. Good old replacements are no more available.

A scan of an original one is already made. When requesteed, a new one can readily be made.

There are two types: small and big. Roughly stated: splash lubricated engines have the small box ( CC,CS & C4) , pressure fed ones have the bigger one.

Price is not yet known, it also depends on the number of shoes to be produced. If you are interested: please let me know ASAP.

Our capabilities

We have a couple of  Dutch and international companies we are working with, all with lots of experience and highly motivated staff. Working with very high standards in engineering, producing parts for the industry, classic and pre war car market, car racing industry and aviation experimental market.

Part scanning

With our mobile scanning equipment we are almost unlimited in dimensions, but to keep it practical we can cope with a maximum volume of approximately 10x10x5 meters. So even the scanning of a complete car or small aircraft is not unusual to us.

For smaller parts the tolerance can be as low as 0,05mm, for large up to 1,0mm.

CAD - Computer Aided Design

From the scanning, a digital drawing can be made. Also a sketch or old school technical drawing can be coverted into a digital technical drawing.

CNC/CAM- Computer Aided Manufacturing

With the generated CAD drawings parts can be manufactured using multiple machines, like a 5-axis milling machine. All kind of shapes can be formed, with very high precision. This method is well known under the name CNC Machining.

Straight, curved, spiral, conus etc.   Special equipment is available for gears, like pinion and crown, semi-axles, steering boxes, flywheels, gearboxes etc.

Other techniques and possibilities

Of course, traditional equipment like milling machine, lathes, presses , welding etc. are readily available. Also the printing of parts is possible in different types of material: from rubber (odd size rubber hoses!) up to titanium.  Even, more traditionally, the casting of parts like bronze and aluminium can be accomplished, possible in compination with printed moulds.

And if needed, a very well equipped workshop is available, loaded with old school tools to work on classic cars.

Other items for sale

Some parts shown are for sale from Blue Sky Aeromotive, some from others; their contact details are given with the article.

New gears for small steering box

These are the last new gears made by Jean-Luc Grosselin of Continuation.
Please notice: the center-to center dimention of this set is 42mm.
The sets we can provide have the CtC dimension of 44mm, proven correct for 3 steering boxes as fitted. But other dimensions are around!
This set can go for our purchase price of       € 850,-
